In this presentation, participants will learn how to develop meaningful behavior goals and establish daily routines that are necessary for an individual’s overall satisfaction and quality of life.

Jennifer Lenderman is a Licensed Board Certified Behavior Analyst who began working in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis in 2008. She holds a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction in Applied Behavior Analysis. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a focus on Applied Behavior Analysis at Florida International University in Miami, Florida. Jennifer started her career working in behavior focus group homes serving adults with varying developmental abilities. Throughout her career, Jennifer has worked with children and adults with varying abilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorders. Jennifer is well versed in working collaboratively with clients, families, staff, educators, support coordinators and other client supports to help facilitate positive behavior change and ultimately attain improvements in quality of life outcomes. Her areas of expertise include ethics, leadership, performance management, developmental disabilities, clinical tool development, and working across dynamic environments with interdisciplinary teams. Jennifer holds an Organizational Behavior Management Certificate from the Florida Institute of Technology, and has spent the last 9 years working on leadership development. She is also a Level 2 PEAK practitioner. Jennifer has served as a Clinical Director for Positive Behavior Supports Corporation for the past 9 years and currently supports services in the states of Georgia and Tennessee.

 

Topic: Improving Daily Routines (Audience- Parents, Caregivers, Educators)

Objectives:

  1. Participants will have the opportunity to identify both successful and challenging routines for the target individual (i.e., client, child, student) and the relevance of stakeholder involvement in short and long-term outcomes.
  2. Participants will identify current abilities, interfering behaviors, and how to identify appropriate goals based on social significance and unique needs.
  3. Participants will learn how to identify behavior patterns and match strategies based the functions of the targeted behaviors and reinforcing contingencies.
  4. Participants will be exposed to the design of effective strategies to prevent, teach, and manage behaviors to improve daily routines.
