INTERACTIVE MUSIC MAKING

Join in the musical fun with Ms. Carrie through songs, movement, body percussion, and creating lyrics.  This time is interactive and a great way to help with following directions, enacting movement, enriching communication and encouraging socialization.  No formal musical experience is required, this is a fun time to dance, sing, and make awesome music!

Carrie Friddell, MT-BC is a Nationally Board Certified Music Therapist.  After completing her course work at Tennessee Technological University and internship with Metro Nashville Public Schools in 2004, she earned her Music Therapy Board Certification in 2005 and has since served both children and adult populations with developmental and intellectual delays and disabilities.   Owner of In Harmony Music Therapy of Middle Tennessee, Carrie provides both individual and group music therapy services.  Additionally, she is a licensed  Music Together®  center director for early childhood  music and movement.  Music Therapy services include support of children and youth with developmental delays and/or intellectual disabilities to help work on non musical skills, such as sharing joint attention and communicating ideas through active music making activities.  Music Therapy services also include the development of positive coping strategies to reduce negative behaviors through engagement in active music making.  Music helps support knowledge of an individual's positive self worth.  To know more about music therapy services visit https://www.inharmonymusicmidtn.com/

Registration is required to get the Zoom link. The supply list will be sent in the confirmation email. This class is for individuals with autism of all ages and their families.
