You're invited to join us for an uplifting series of in-person meditation classes as part of AutismTN’s Month of Mindfulness hosted by the Connect and The Spectrum Connection communities. This event series is open to all Autistic and neurodivergent adults in Middle Tennessee and beyond.

In partnership with Small World Yoga, we're thrilled to offer three sessions featuring somatic grounding practices designed to nurture the mind-body connection, enhance interoception, and foster autonomy and self-respect.

So, what exactly is a somatic practice? Somatic practices involve techniques that help individuals connect with their bodies, emotions, and sensations. By incorporating breathing exercises, mindful movement, and relaxation strategies, these practices aim to increase awareness of the mind-body connection, promote overall well-being, and support emotional regulation.

When & Where:

  • Thursday, January 11, 2024 from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. CT at On the Avenue
  • Friday, January 26, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. CT at Small World Yoga
  • Friday, February 2, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. CT at Small World Yoga

Each class will build upon the previous one, offering participants an opportunity to delve deeper into meditation techniques and cultivate a stronger mind-body connection. We welcome you to attend as many sessions as you'd like, discovering the benefits of these empowering practices at your own pace.

Please note:

  • There is a registration limit of 20 participants for the January 26 session at Small World Yoga and a limit of 40 participants for the February 2 session at Small World Yoga.
  • Please register for each event separately so that we can have an accurate headcount for each session.

If you have questions, please contact Casey Davis, the Connect facilitator, at casey@autismtn.org, or Leah Quazi, The Spectrum Connection facilitator, at leah@autismtn.org.
