Autism TN Parent Coaches

"Parents Coaching Parents" is a comprehensive approach that matches trained volunteers with families for a sustained and productive mentoring relationship. Coaches work with families to provide guidance and practical skills to address a variety of autism related issues and difficulties in a supportive, peer relationship. To become a Coach, apply below. 

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Provide coaching to individuals and families to develop their knowledge of autism. Through coaching, help families explore the appropriate therapies and services available to them, access new experiences, opportunities and perspectives.
  • Work alongside individuals and parents to empower and enable them to overcome identified barriers to progress and achieve better outcomes for themselves and/or their children.
  • Identify ways for individuals and parents to build self-confidence, including encouraging participation in learning, workshops and other activities
  • Network and signpost families to relevant external agencies or refer back to HelpLine for resources accordance with their needs
  • Maintain clear and accurate records of work undertaken and outcomes achieved via Kintone Database.

General requirements:

  • Ensure that all responsibilities are undertaken in an effective and appropriate manner which
  • meet the requirements of Autism Tennessee in accordance with the Code of Conduct for
  • Employees. Ensure that all AT’s Policies and Procedures are adhered to at all times
  • Seek to continuously improve in order that AT delivers the best possible service
  • Participate in regular internal/external meetings as well as in any training required
  • Act as a positive ambassador for AT at all times
  • Have reliable internet/email/phone access
